J-1 Work and Travel Program
International Adventures' Work and Travel Program offers talented and hard working international students the chance to spend their summer vacation living and working in the United States.
Our Work and Travel Program will give you the chance to gain valuable work experience, earn some money, live and work with other students from around the world and have the opportunity to experience a slice of life in the USA. Plus once your work program ends you will have the chance to see some of the USA before returning home.
How long does it last?
On this program you can work for up to 16 weeks and then travel for up to 30 days during your official summer vacation.
Who can participate?
Our Work and Travel program is open to students studying on hospitality, tourism, or culinary courses who have an active interest in supplementing their education with real world work experience. To participate in our Work and Travel program you must be:
- Currently enrolled on a full-time basis in a college or university
- Studying on a Hospitality, Tourism, or Culinary program
- Between the ages of 18 and 30
- Able to speak and understand conversational English
- Willing to work hard and possess a sense of adventure!
What positions are available?
International Adventures has exciting jobs available all across the United States in the most prominent vacation resorts and convention destinations. We have placed students with leading hotel companies including Marriott, Wyndham, Westin, and many more. Positions are available as:
- Food and Beverage Servers
- Bussers
- Cashiers
- Resturant Host / Hostess
- Recreation Attendants
- Front Desk Agents
- PBX Telephone Operators
- Bell Service Attendants
- Housekeepers
- Cooks
- ... and more!
When can I start?
You are able to take part in the Work and Travel program during your official school vacation period (which varies by country). Our Work and Travel program offers three different start dates throughout the year:
- Spring Program – Starting in Febuary or March
- Summer Program – Starting in May or during the month of June
- Winter Program – Starting in November or December
The Work and Travel program can last up to a maximum of 16 weeks. You must be able to work for at least 12 weeks in order to be considered.
