J-1 Trainee Program
International Adventures' J-1 Trainee Program offers experience international hospitality workers and recent international, hospitality graduates the opportunity to take part in structured training programs with some of the leading U.S. hotels and resorts.
Participation in this program will involve following a structured training plan designed to develop new skills and produce a thorough understanding of how the hospitality business operates. You will be able to apply the knowledge you have gained through your previous work experience and education, and take it to the next level for your future career success. Plus you will get to spend a year living in the USA and have the chance to travel around the country after successfully completing your program before you return home.
How long does it last?
The J-1 Trainee Program lasts up to a maximum of 12 months and requires a commitment for this full period of time. At the end of the Trainee Program you are able to travel for up to 30 days before departing the USA. Some select supervisory and management training programs are available for up to 18 months.
Who can participate?
Our J-1 Trainee Program is available to graduates from hospitality, tourism, or culinary degree / certificate granting courses that have at least 1 year of hospitality work experience, or to experienced hospitality workers that have at least 5 years of related work experience. Candidates should be interested in gaining new skills, knowledge and understanding of the hospitality business by participating in a structured training program. To participate in our J-1 Trainee Program you must be:
- A graduate from a non-US Hospitality, Tourism or Culinary degree or certificate granting program with at least one year of non-US related hospitality work experience, OR an experienced hospitality worker with at least 5 years of previous non-US hospitality work experience.
- At least 18 years of age
- Able to demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of English
- Willing to take part in a structured training program and to do so with enthusiasm, dedication and a desire to learn and grow!
What Trainee Programs are available?
International Adventures has exciting Trainee Program placements available all across the United States in some of the most prominent vacation resorts and convention destinations. We have placed trainees with leading hotel companies including Omni, Marriott, Wyndham, Westin, Hyatt, St. Regis, Renaissance and many more. Trainee Program opportunities primarily exist in the following divisions:
- Front OFfice
- Rooms Division
- Recreation
- Food and Beverage
- Culinary
When can I start?
We have Trainee Programs commencing throughout the year and can coordinate a start date to work with your availability. The Trainee Program can last up to a maximum of 12 months (18 months for management/supervisory programs) and employers will require a commitment for the full length of the program.
