J-1 Work and Travel Program Requirements
Our Work and Travel program is open to students studying on hospitality, tourism, or culinary courses who have an active interest in supplementing their education with real world work experience.
Students can work for up to 16 weeks and then travel for up to 30 days during their official summer vacation. Students must be available to work for a minimum of 12 weeks.
Program Qualifications
Our Work and Travel program is open to students studying on hospitality, tourism, or culinary courses who have an active interest in supplementing their education with real world work experience. To participate in our Work and Travel program potential candidates must be:
- Currently enrolled on a full-time basis in a college or university
- Studying on a Hospitality, Tourism, or Culinary program
- Between the ages of 18 and 30
- Able to speak and understand conversational English
- Willing to work hard and possess a sense of adventure!
Positions Available
International Adventures has exciting jobs available all across the United States in the most prominent vacation resorts and convention destinations. We have placed students with leading hotel companies including Marriott, Wyndham, Westin, and many more. Positions are available as: Food and Beverage Servers; Bussers; Cashiers; Restaurant Host / Hostesses; Recreation Attendants; Front Desk Agents; PBX Telephone Operators; Bell Service Attendants; Housekeepers; Cooks; and more.
Program Start Dates
Our Work and Travel program offers three different start dates throughout the year:
- Spring Program – Starting in March
- Summer Program – Starting in late May or during the month of June
- Winter Program – Starting in December
